🔥 Hot topic: Prices for your work 🔥

Being in the service industry and basing most of my jobs off flat rates, it’s pretty easy to see your profit off each job in the program I use (Jobber). It’s a fairly new feature within the past couple years and it’s made a big difference. I find I’m changing many of my rates often, that have...

Shocking stat about construction and building needs

That’s insanity 😳😳. In our area we’ve been seeing an exponential rise in foreign workers in the industry to supplement the lack of workers locally. There have been definitely pros and cons. Of course jobs are actually getting done, and not all bad, however, some issues though due to lack of...

    The begging question

What does everyone’s daily routing look like? I’m up at 4:15am, admin, gym, editing, work, work, work until sometimes late into the night. Making lunches and dinner can seem daunting with a crazy (self inflicted) schedule. Yet I can’t stop doing this to myself. Ever since opening my company...

    Pick Your Poison 🔥❄️

I do roofing and plumbing and for roofing, I have worked in extreme hot and extreme cold and the one that has put me to near tears was extreme cold. Having warm gloves that you can still use your hands for detail work are just plain non-existent, so it’s the cold hands that get to me. The same...

    When Do You Unfollow Someone?

Awe thank you Tim! I personally love your content, the mix of education and humor a perfect balance. For me, if someone starts going political, religious, conspiracy theory-ish, consistent negative posts, I will unfollow. I don’t scroll a lot so when I do, I want to see the positive people...

How are you guys actually getting more reviews?

I’ll give this a whirl! Right now I just send a link with the invoice that leads to my Google page. I would say it does ok, not great, but I have had people say they are weary of referring me because I’m already too busy for often them, so don’t want my schedule to be even more busy.

📱Social media is tough (good thing we have some pros here) share your best advice.

Definitely the hook. And for me, many of my viral videos leading to my success on social media has been through videos that people think I’m going to fail at, like working on live waterlines. I agree with Tim though, it can be soul sucking sometimes. The stress, the daily negativity (though...

Tell us who was your BEST client and why

I love the clients that you’ve built a relationship with over the years. They share stories, hugs and often tears. If makes you feel like not just a worker in their home, but a friend. ❤️ I also like when clients give me coffee. 😅😂

What is the best business advice you ever received?

“Don’t go too big too fast.” Then I did and soon realized why I was told that.
