Hey there, thank you for writing this up!
Here's what's going on: Reports didn't get deleted, the feature moved. We merged it into the Documents tab so all your job documentation lives in one place instead of split across separate tabs, and the Report layout in Documents does everything the old builder did plus headers/footers, cover pages, and flexible layouts. Every Report you've already built is still right there and still fully editable.
Here are a few tips to ease the process of getting used to the workflow:
- Starting a Report: Open your Project → Documents tab → + Document → New Document, then pick the Report layout. That drops you into the structured report format rather than a blank page, so you're not building from nothing.
- For filtering photos like the old "add photo" screen: Inside the Report, click the Add Photos Icon → Click to add photos → then the Project Filter Icon. You get the full filterable photo picker, and you can even pull photos in from other Projects now.
- So you never fight font or spacing again: Build one Report the way you like it, then hit Save as Template from the top corner. After that it's pick your Template → drop photos → type → export PDF. No formatting decisions at all. Pair that with Insert Page Break (CMD + Enter, same as Word or Docs) if you want to lock where each page starts. Templates are available on select plans.

That said, I hear you. The update might not feel like the right fit yet, especially when you had Reports working exactly how you wanted it.
Here's the honest reason behind it: we kept hitting walls with Reports. A lot of what customers were asking for simply couldn't be built inside it, so rather than patch around those limits we built Documents as the next version of Reports and put our development there. Most of what's in Documents came straight from Reports users telling us what they needed, and it's built to keep growing instead of staying boxed in.
