Bring back the previous reports function

I just logged on to type up a new report and found the Create Report button was gone. Long story short, the ai chat told me that the only way to create a report now is to create a document using the native document feature. You are able to select a "Report Layout", however it's much clunkier and not as polished as the previous dedicated report function. I also would never use the native Company Cam document builder as it is nowhere near as useful as word or even docs. I feel like removing the dedicated report builder was a major step backwards. It was a primary reason I chose company cam over some of the bigger CRM software's like service titan and housecall pro. Having the ability to filter through my report photos by simply clicking add photo and not having to worry about accidentally moving the photo insert box in the document was really nice. Maybe I'm being too picky but I liked not having to worry about font, spacing, or anything besides typing my report, selecting my photos, and clicking generate pdf.

Project Access from My Stuff

Hey there! I think I can explain what you're seeing, because it's probably not an iPad-vs-phone thing at all. It's more likely the two devices are on different app versions.

We recently changed how tapping a task from My Stuff behaves with app version 10.0.52. It used to drop you straight onto the Project. Now it takes you to that task inside the job's To-Dos list, so you land right on the thing you were assigned instead of having to go hunting for it. Useful in a lot of cases, but as you've found, it also means you're no longer getting dropped into the full job.

So if your iPad is running an older build and the phones have updated, you'd see exactly the split you're describing. Would you mind checking the version on both? (Tap your User Icon the top left → Settings Gear Icon → scroll to the bottom.) If the numbers are different, that'd confirm it.

In the meantime, a couple of things that should help your crew get into the full job faster:

Star the active jobs. Starred projects sit right on the home screen under Projects. One tap from home, no searching.

Lean on Nearby. If they're on site, the job should surface under Nearby on the home screen. Usually the quickest route in.

And honestly, your point stands regardless of the version question: if someone's looking at a task, getting to the rest of that job shouldn't take a detour. I'm passing this straight to the team that works on Tasks. Thanks for taking the time to write this up. 🙌

Email forward for storage and easy retrieval

The conversation focused on whether CompanyCam could support a feature that automatically receives and stores emails inside the platform.
The user proposed a workflow where:
  • Each project would have a unique email address
  • Emails sent to that address would automatically appear in the project
  • Messages would be stored in a read-only folder for easy viewing
This would eliminate the need to manually download or upload emails and keep all project communication organized in one place.
Currently, CompanyCam does not support receiving or storing emails directly.
The suggested alternative is to keep project communication inside the Conversations Hub, where teams can reply to messages and attach photos or files within the project thread.
The user also suggested this as a potential product feature to streamline email management across projects.

Global Document View of Signature Request/Status

Hey there, and thanks for taking the time to lay this out!

On the Signature side: right now, Signature status lives at the File level inside each project's Documents tab (you'll see Signature Pending, then Signed once everyone's done). There isn't a global view from the left-hand toolbar yet, but here's a workaround a lot of folks have had luck with in the meantime: if you're using Project Boards, you can set up labels like "Awaiting Signature" and "Signed" and move Projects between columns as docs come back. It's not automatic, but it does give you that one-screen snapshot of what's still outstanding without clicking into every job.

On the Home layout: really glad you're liking the new look! We just rolled that out more broadly, and the team is actively refining it. You make a good point and one we haven't heard framed quite this way: if you're managing tasks in AccuLynx, that section is just real estate you're not using. I'm passing on to the Product team, along with the idea of swapping for another feature, like in Documents Sent for Signature.

I can't make any promises, but both are going to the right teams. Keep 'em coming! 🙌

White‑label proposal email branding

Hey Matt, thanks for your feedback!

Straight answer: you can't white-label that delivery email today. The Proposal itself will carry your branding if you upload your logo under Company Settings → Logo, it shows up on your customer-facing outputs (here's the how-to), but the wrapper around it is still ours.

Here's a workaround that gets you close in the meantime:

Send it from your own inbox.
Open the Proposal, grab the share link or download it as a PDF, and send it from your company email with your own signature and message. Your customer gets a proposal from you, in your voice, and the link still tracks and collects signatures the same way.

We can totally see how you'd want to keep it all within CompanyCam from beginning to end, so I'd be happy to pass your request along to the team that owns Proposals. 🙌

Edit Active Advanced Checklists on Projects

Hey Lee, this is a great callout and you're reading the situation exactly right. 👏

Adding Fields and Sections to a Checklist that's already live on a Project isn't something you can do directly in the app (or over MCP) today. That's a known gap, and it's actively being worked on right now!

The good news: there's already a way to do this. The CompanyCam Assistant can add, edit, and discard Sections, Fields, and conditional follow-ups on an existing Advanced Checklist, not just Templates. So instead of duplicating or deleting your way around it, you can pull up the Checklist and tell the Assistant what you need added, conditional logic included. It can also build a brand-new one-off Checklist from scratch with no Template at all, refine it as you go, and complete items (text and photos). Worth trying on a live Checklist and seeing how close it gets you.

On your bigger question: one-off Advanced Checklists in the UI are being built as we speak. I can't put a date on it, but that's the direction — the Assistant just got there first.

It's worth flagging that "derive from a template, then edit the instance" is the specific part I want to make sure the team hears, because it's a little different from "build a one-off from nothing." I'm passing your post along with that framing. Feedback like this is genuinely what shapes the order things get built in, so thank you for taking the time to write it up. 🙏

This is great to hear. thank you so much.

Wishlist Request: QuickBooks Projects → CompanyCam Projects

We use QuickBooks Online’s actual Projects feature to separate individual jobs underneath a parent customer. This allows project/job cost tracking easily

For example:

Customer: TeleData
QuickBooks Project: TD-2026-B-078636 (Monticello)

I would love the option for creation of a new QuickBooks Project to automatically create the matching CompanyCam Project.

Ideally, this would be a selectable sync rule so that:

New Customer → does NOT automatically create a CompanyCam Project
New Estimate → does NOT automatically create a CompanyCam Project
New Invoice → does NOT automatically create a CompanyCam Project
New QuickBooks Project → DOES automatically create a CompanyCam Project

For companies like ours, the parent customer may have dozens of individual jobs, so the QuickBooks Project is the point where a customer relationship becomes an actual field project that needs photos, checklists, documentation, and crew activity in CompanyCam.

This would make the integration much cleaner and prevent unnecessary CompanyCam projects from being created simply because a customer, estimate, or invoice was entered in QuickBooks.

Bonus points if the CompanyCam project could inherit the QuickBooks Project name, parent customer, address, project number/ID, and assigned contact information automatically.

Field Scheduling

Hey James, thanks for the feedback!

There's no native crew calendar in CompanyCam today, as you know, but you're far from the only one asking. This is easily one of the most requested things we hear, so I've passed your write-up along to our product team. It's an area we're actively digging into right now, though I can't give you a timeline on what lands or when.

In the meantime, here's the closest thing to what you're describing, and it gets you further than a group text:

Assign users to the Project. Open the Project → Project Users → Assign Users. Everyone assigned gets a notification that drops them right into the job, and it shows up in their Projects list on mobile. (How to assign a Project to Users)

Use the Google Calendar integration for the "when." It's two-way — you can create a CompanyCam Project straight from a Google Calendar event. If your office schedules the week on a shared work calendar, the jobs get built in CompanyCam automatically and your team taps the Project link from the event to land on-site with everything already there. (Setup guide)

Assign the work. Project Tasks live in the To-Dos tab and can be assigned to specific people — crews see everything assigned to them in My Stuff, across every job. (Assign Project Tasks to Users) Checklists can be assigned the same way if you've got a repeatable scope. (Assign a Checklist to Users)

Thank you again for sharing this and what you want it to look like! 🙌

Google Integrations For Shared Drive

Hey Sharee! Good news — you can absolutely do this today.

Here's how it works: an Admin or Manager connects the Google Drive integration, and CompanyCam automatically creates a CompanyCam root folder in that person's My Drive. From there, every new Project gets its own subfolder, and all photos, videos, and documents sync into it automatically.

The part you're after: once that root folder exists, you can move it straight into your company's Shared Drive. Just right-click the CompanyCam folder in Drive → Organize → Move → pick your Shared Drive. Sync keeps running exactly as before, and now your whole team has access based on your Shared Drive permissions. 🎉

Two quick tips so it goes smoothly:
  • Have an Admin be the one to connect it, since whoever connects it owns that root folder.
  • Connect first, then move — the folder has to exist before you can relocate it.
Full walkthrough is here: Integrate CompanyCam and Google Drive

One thing that isn't possible currently is picking the Shared Drive (or a specific customer folder) as the destination during setup. It's always "connect, then move." We have a feature request for this that I'll tag you to and we'll chime back in here if there is any progress in the future! 📸

PROJECT LABEL VISIBILITY

Hey Casey, you're speaking our language — nobody should have to click into 30 Projects to figure out where each one stands. 🙌

Are you referring to viewing Labels in the mobile app? Good news on the mobile side: we've been working on a redesigned Project Feed that includes putting Labels right on the Project cards. It's making its way to accounts now, so if you're not seeing it yet, hang tight — and make sure you're on the latest app version.

A workaround in the meantime: you can filter by Label by tapping the Search Icon in the bottom left of your mobile home screen > scroll through the tabs and tap Labels > search for the Label you'd like to narrow your Projects down by.

Showing more Labels on cards is something we're already poking at, so this lands at a good time. Thanks for taking the time to write this up!

Navigation Feature

Hey there! This is a fantastic idea, and that mockup made it really easy to picture. 🙌

The live camera overlay with a Maps-style navigation indicator isn't something we can do today. But the foundation you're describing — uploading a plan and pinning photos to exact spots on it — is something our team is actively tinkering with right now. I can't make any promises, but feedback like this helps shape what we build next, so thank you for taking the time to write it up.

In the meantime, here are a couple of things that get you partway there:

Map This Photo might be the closest thing to what you're after. Open a photo, tap the Map Icon, and you'll see a pin for where it was taken plus the direction the photographer was facing. That's the "which way was this shot looking?" piece you mentioned, just on a satellite map instead of over the drawing. Here's how it works.

Turn on GPS + date/time stamps so every photo carries its own location context for anyone reviewing later. Steps here.

Upload the drawing as a Project Document, then use Tags (or a quick annotation on a copy of the plan) to label areas — "North Elevation," "Grid C4," etc. Tag your photos to match, and someone who's never been on site can filter to an area and know exactly what they're looking at.

Draw a geofence when you create the project so photos stay tied to the right site — handy on larger jobs.

Not quite your ask, but it'll get your viewer oriented today. Keep the ideas coming! 📐

Reminder notification date

Appreciate you writing this one up! 🙌

Right now, Reminders only offer the preset windows (30 minutes, 4 hours, 1 day, 3 days), and they're personal — you can set one on your own or someone else's comment, but it only pings you. So a "remind me on November 12th" or "remind Dave" isn't possible today.

Two workarounds that get you close in the meantime:

For follow-ups further out: assign a Project Task to a User instead of using a Reminder. Tasks stick around until they're checked off, they show up under My Stuff on the home screen, and they don't expire after 3 days.

For reminding someone else: @mention them right in the photo comment or Project Conversation.

Regarding your specific ask for these changes to reminders, I'm passing this along to our Product team. No timeline to promise you, but your feedback is absolutely landing in the right place.

RETROACTIVE GOOGLE DRIVE SYNCE REQUEST

Hey Sharee,

I want to be honest with you here: retroactive sync is a request we've logged and that a lot of customers have asked for, but it isn't currently scheduled or in development. I don't have a timeline or details on what it would look like if we develop it.

But here's the part I'm confident about: connect now anyway. Every day you're not connected is another day of projects joining the "needs manual work" pile. Connect today and that pile stops growing — everything from here forward handles itself. If a retro sync does ship later, you'd be in the best possible position for it. And if it doesn't, you've still got the manual download-and-upload path for the older stuff, and a much smaller backlog to chew through.

I'll keep your request attached to the internal ticket either way. Thanks!

Moving Folders

Hey Koren!

Thanks for bringing this over here after our chat today. I've already tagged you on the feature requests for both moving Documents/Folders between Projects and bulk deleting Documents. So if either of those ships, you'll hear about it.

Straight answer on the Folder question: Folders live inside a single Project right now, so there's no way to pick one up and drop it into another Project. Same story for the PDFs inside it. Not the answer you wanted, and I'm not going to pretend the download-and-reupload route is fun.

A couple things that should actually save you time, though:

Bulk moves just got way better. As of last week you can hover any Document row, click the checkbox, and a bar pops up with a running count and a Move to Folder button. Best part — your selections stick while you search, so you can grab a few, search for more, keep adding to the same batch, and move them all in one shot. There's no true "select all" button yet, but that's actively being worked on along with a few other bulk actions. 🙌

And nice catch on the delete workaround. 👏 Dropping everything into a Folder and deleting the Folder really is the fastest way to clear a batch today — you found the shortcut!

For those PDFs in the wrong Project: download them from the Documents tab, then upload them back into the correct Project. Still a haul, but it's a one-time cleanup.

Keep the feedback coming and thanks for sticking with us on it.

GPS Coordinates in Address Bar

Hi Shayla,

This doesn't work.
It doesn't populate the job on the map.
Also when I click on the coordinates in the project is just pulls up a general Google Map that is near my location and no where near the actual project location.

Guys use the map in the field to bring up jobs they are near and get the correct job number to put their time to - photos to.

Example, the location I used has 2 other projects for two different clients that are all working on the same project but different phases. The correct photos need to go to the correct clients. If the project doesn't populate, the final as builts/photos, billing will all be off.

Task Timestamps

Hey there! Thanks for you feedback!

Right now, Project Tasks don't stamp who created them or when. What is tracked today is the other half of the story: when someone checks a task off, we capture who completed it and when.

A couple of things that get you close in the meantime:
  • Assign the task right when you create it. The assignee gets a notification, and it shows up in their My Stuff so there's a clear owner from the jump — often that's the accountability people are actually after. Here's how.
  • Use the task details field for context. We just raised the limit to 5,000 characters, so there's plenty of room if your team wants to keep noting initials for now — and it beats cramming it into the title.
None of that is the automatic timestamp you're asking for, I know. But this request is logged with our product team and tied to the same feedback we've heard from other crews.

Thank you for taking the time to post this! 🛠️

Trade Partner Record Per Project

Hey! Thanks for laying this out so clearly. The distinction between "who's on the job" and "who has access to the project" is a good one, and I can see why Labels feel clunky for this.

Right now there isn't a dedicated Trade Partner/Subcontractor field like the Customer field, so this isn't something you can do today. But this is genuinely useful feedback, especially the warranty use case; that's a workflow angle that's easy to miss if you're just thinking about active builds.

In the meantime, a couple of workarounds that might help:
  • Project Description: drop the sub's company name, contact, and number right in there. It's plain text, so it won't be as scannable as a dedicated field, but it keeps the info attached to the project without cluttering up Labels.
  • A Document on the project: if you want something more structured (multiple subs, multiple trades), a running Document with a simple table works well and stays visible to anyone with project access, including your warranty team down the line.
I'm passing this along to the product team. Feel free to add any other details here (like whether you'd want this per-project or a main director) since that kind of detail helps shape the design if it gets picked up. 🙌

Projects/Roles

Hey! Not a left-field idea at all, you're onto something we're actively digging into. We hear you on wanting more flexibility than our current four roles give you, especially for keeping Assistant automations pointed at the right people. Can't share a timeline yet, but this is being worked on, and posts like yours help us prioritize what to build first. Keep it coming! 🙌

Saving a .cvj file to projects

Hey there, thanks for sharing what would make your work easier within CompanyCam! 🙌

Straight answer first: .cvj files aren't supported in Project Files just yet. Today the Documents tab accepts PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, CSV, TXT, JPG, JPEG, PNG, and NUMBERS, up to 100 MB each.

Good news though — we do have a feature request logged for this exact ask, specifically calling out Cabinet Vision .cvj files. It's on our Product team's radar and I've added this thread to it. I can't promise anything, but your request is being tracked!

If anyone else in the cabinetry/millwork world is running into this same thing or recommends a workaround, feel free to chime in. 👇

Same Time Summary View for a User’s Own Hours

Hey, Ben! This is a great catch, and honestly a fair one. 👏

You're right that the summary view with total hours shows up when you're looking at someone else's time, but not when you're looking at your own in My Time. That's an inconsistency, not a permissions thing, and it makes scanning your own week harder than it should be.

Good news: our Time Tracking team has this one on their radar and is actively working on bringing that same range selector and hours total over to My Time, for every role. No date to promise yet, but it's in motion!

In the meantime, the best workaround is the Time Tracking page on web. You can filter down to a date range there and see totals, plus export to CSV if you want to double-check a pay period. It's a couple of extra taps compared to just glancing at your phone, but it'll get you the same numbers until the mobile view catches up. More details here.

Thanks for taking the time to write this up so clearly — keep it coming.

Quickbooks integration

Hey there!

You're not alone on this one — quoting in CompanyCam first and only touching QuickBooks once the job is signed is a super common workflow, and right now the integration runs QBO-first, so you end up with that duplicate Project and a need to merge.

I'm sharing your feedback with our product team. No date to share yet, but it's on our radar as we continue to improve the QuickBooks Online integration.

Appreciate you writing this up! 🙌

Add a Job Status Field & Arrival Window (date/time field) to Projects

Thank you, Shayla—I appreciate you passing this along to the product team.

For our workflow, the two most valuable additions would be:

  1. A dedicated Project Status field.
  2. Scheduled Start Date and Time and Scheduled End Time / Date fields.
These would solve two related but separate problems for companies integrating CompanyCam with Salesforce or another CRM.

Project Status

Labels can technically represent a project’s status, but they become messy very quickly. We also use labels for job type, fuel type, paperwork, routing, technician workflow, and other operational purposes. When status is mixed into the same label system, a project can accidentally have Scheduled, Completed, and Cannot Complete selected simultaneously.

A dedicated, single-value Project Status field would prevent those conflicts. Suggested values could include:

  • New
  • Scheduled
  • In Progress
  • Completed
  • Incomplete
  • Cannot Complete
  • Waiting
  • Canceled
  • Closed
Ideally, companies could customize their available status values.

In our workflow, Salesforce is the main office system, and the Work Order Status controls which queues, lists, and follow-up processes contain the job. Our technicians do not have Salesforce licenses; they work from CompanyCam.

We currently rely on the technician applying a matching CompanyCam label, which triggers an integration that updates the Salesforce Work Order. It works, but labels are not the cleanest tool for this. We must determine which label represents the newest status, remove the previous status label, and prevent multiple conflicting status labels from being applied.

A dedicated field would give every project one clear, authoritative status.

Structured status values would also give CompanyCam and its customers much more automation potential. A status change could trigger:

  • A webhook update to Salesforce or another CRM.
  • A customer completion message.
  • An office follow-up task for an incomplete job.
  • A parts request when a job cannot be completed.
  • A payment request when work is completed.
  • Automatic project archiving after a defined period.
  • Different required checklists or documents.
  • Management alerts and dashboards.
  • Movement between project views without creating additional labels.
Labels could then remain available for what they do best: flexible categories such as Wood, Gas, Installation, Cleaning, Warranty, or Route Stop 1. Project Status would describe where the job is in its lifecycle.

For integrations, the minimum useful Project Status implementation would include:

  • One current status value per project.
  • Customizable status options.
  • Read and write access through the API.
  • A webhook event when the status changes.
  • The user and timestamp associated with the change.
  • Visibility and easy editing on web and mobile.
  • The ability to filter, sort, and report by status.
  • Optional automations based on status changes.
Scheduled Start Date and Time and Scheduled End Time / Date

For scheduling, having both a Scheduled Start Date and Time and a Scheduled End Time / Date would be considerably more useful than having a single date or timestamp.

I would keep the scheduled appointment information separate from the actual time worked:

  • Scheduled Start Date and Time
  • Scheduled End Time / Date, preferably optional
  • Actual Clock-In and Clock-Out through CompanyCam’s Time Tracking feature
The Scheduled End Time / Date should not automatically close the project. Project Status should control whether the project is completed, incomplete, canceled, or closed. The scheduled fields would represent the appointment or arrival window promised to the customer.

Our office schedules a Salesforce Work Order for a particular technician and date. The integration then creates the corresponding CompanyCam project. Salesforce customer information maps very well into the CompanyCam project contact, but the scheduled date and time currently have no structured destination. We can only place that information in the project description or notepad.

That technically displays the information, but it cannot be reliably sorted, filtered, reported on, displayed prominently, or used by automations without parsing free text. The schedule can also become buried among the other project notes.

Our technicians often route the next day’s jobs themselves the night before. Structured scheduling fields could allow CompanyCam to:

  • Display today’s and tomorrow’s projects chronologically.
  • Show the arrival window prominently on mobile project cards.
  • Sort and filter projects by their scheduled date.
  • Improve map and routing views.
  • Notify technicians when an appointment changes.
  • Send appointment reminders or arrival-window texts to customers.
  • Push technician scheduling changes back to Salesforce or another CRM.
  • Compare the scheduled appointment with actual Time Tracking data.
  • Report on travel time, arrival accuracy, job duration, and workload.
For example, a customer could be given an appointment window of September 16 from 9:00–11:00 AM:

  • Scheduled Start Date and Time: September 16 at 9:00 AM
  • Scheduled End Time / Date: September 16 at 11:00 AM
For a multi-day installation, the Scheduled End Time / Date could instead fall on a later date. Companies that only need a single scheduled time could leave the ending field blank.

The existing contact integration is a good comparison. Because customer information has dedicated fields, it remains structured and useful throughout CompanyCam. We would love project status and appointment scheduling to work the same way.

The minimum useful scheduling implementation would include:

  • Scheduled Start Date and Time.
  • Optional Scheduled End Time / Date.
  • API read and write access.
  • Webhook events when either value changes.
  • Web and mobile visibility.
  • Visibility on mobile project cards.
  • Sorting and filtering by these fields.
Together, Project Status, Scheduled Start Date and Time, Scheduled End Time / Date, and Time Tracking would provide a clean progression:

Scheduled appointment → technician arrival → work performed → final project status.

That would make CompanyCam substantially more powerful for companies using Salesforce and other CRMs without requiring CompanyCam to become a full field-service platform. It would also create a strong foundation for customer communications, routing, reporting, payments, and workflow automation.

We would be very interested in beta-testing these features with our Salesforce-to-CompanyCam integration.
