I wanted to ask whether you are considering adding a feature that would require proposals to be reviewed and approved by an administrator before they can be submitted to a customer.

We believe this would be extremely helpful in catching potential pricing or scope errors before a proposal is sent. It would also help keep the proposal process organized and avoid situations where we have to contact a customer afterward to explain that incorrect pricing was submitted due to a misunderstanding.

Please let me know if this is a feature you currently offer or are considering for the future.

Thank you!

Hey Elizabeth, great question! 👏

Right now there isn’t a built-in way to require admin sign-off before a Proposal goes out to a customer, and I'll be honest that's not on the roadmap as of right now. But there is a workflow that gets you most of the way there.

Proposals now have Draft and Sent statuses. A Proposal stays in Draft status until someone actively sends it, and it stays editable right up until the customer accepts or declines. So your team can build Proposals and leave them sitting in Draft, and you (or whoever’s doing the reviewing) can open them up, check the pricing and scope, make any edits directly, and then hit send yourself. The Proposals list on the Project makes it easy to see what’s waiting. We recommend you direct your crew to click Back on a Proposals instead of sending (Proposals auto-save as you go). Then tag the reviewer in the Project Conversation so they know that particular Proposal draft is ready to review. And here’s the full rundown on statuses if it’s helpful: Understanding Proposal Statuses.

One other thing that pairs well with that: Ensuring your Price Book is up to date so you can catch pricing errors before they happen. Setting up standard line items with locked-in pricing means your crew is pulling from approved numbers instead of typing them in fresh each time: Creating a Price Book.

I’m passing your request along to our Product team as well. An official approval step before send is a clear ask and we appreciate you taking the time to write it up! 🙌
